The Record Office is CLOSED until further notice
Focusing on the health and wellbeing of our staff and customers is our top priority. In line with national guidance and government recommendations we have taken the decision to close the record office until further notice. We will not be able to undertake research or give collections advice at this time, but will endeavour to respond to any enquiries, if possible, but this service is dependent upon staff availability. We will put any further updates about the service on our website. We’re encouraging all our customers to stay safe in these unprecedented times by keeping up to date with the latest government guidance at www.gov.uk/coronavirus
The Record Office has an active exhibitions programme and we are happy to lend exhibitions to schools, community and local history groups free of charge. Most of our exhibitions are in the form of pull-up banners, although some are on boards.
Conditions of Loan:
We accept that reasonable wear and tear may occur during transportation and use. It is more important that the exhibition is viewed and enjoyed than it is to keep it in pristine condition!
Please report any damage to us as soon as it occurs.
Those borrowing exhibitions must arrange to collect the exhibition from and return it to the Record Office.
If you wish to borrow an exhibition please Contact us giving details of the exhibition and the dates required.
